THE CHALET

Traditional, warm and cosy, our family chalet is situated in the more peaceful quiet upper parts of the village of la Tzoumaz, at an altitude of 1650m. Thanks to its North-facing slopes, the resort usually enjoys snow that stays of much better quality and for longer than the South-facing resorts. With panoramic views across the Alps and the Rhone valley from our balconies, and with the beautiful undisturbed forest just behind us, snow sport enthusiasts and nature-lovers will enjoy this ideal location.

 

With the slopes and lifts just a stone’s throw away, the chalet offers ski-in/ski-out possibilities right from the front door. The same applies to those more inclined to snow-shoeing, mountaineering, or just winter walking or hiking, as plenty of trails start near the chalet. For beginners and younger children, a carpet lift is located just 50m away.

 

Chalet les Chablis offers all modern comforts and is tastefully decorated. Built in the early 1980s, the rented part of the chalet consists of two floors with large balconies and stunning views. The chalet is large enough to comfortably host a group of 9 to 10 people, for example two families with kids or a group of friends.

 

Bedrooms

All 4 bedrooms are spacious and bright with wardrobes and dressers for the comfort of holidaymakers. The decor is simple, warm and neat, reflecting the traditional mountain theme.

The bathrooms on each floor have a shower, a sink and toilet. They are small but comfortable and practical.

We also have a baby travel cot, a high chair and a safety gate available on request. Please contact us for other safety information concerning younger children.

Bed linen and towels are available for rent at the price of Chf 25 per person for the week from the owner.

 

Strictly a non smoking property. Holidaymakers wishing to smoke will have to do it outside, and we are grateful that you properly dispose of the cigarette butts, and please do not discard them in the garden. No pets allowed

Kitchen and dining

The kitchen is small but compact, fully equipped for a comfortable stay and home cooking. The dining area consists of a long table with 8 chairs and 2 stools. If you prefer, you can bring another 2 chairs down from the bedrooms to seat 10-12 people even more comfortably.

There is a kettle, a Bodum coffee perculator and a Nespresso machine but please bring your own capsules. Similar but compatible capsules can also be purchased in the village supermarket.

We typically also leave basic kitchen cooking ingredients such as salt & pepper, oil & vinegar, flour, sugar and spices, teas and instant coffee.

All basic cleaning equipment and materials are available in the cottage. However, because of the new recycling regulations, we will leave you instructions and special waste disposal bags. Please help us adhere to these new principles.

The sitting room has a large group of comfortable leather sofas, wood log fireplace, Satellite TV, DVD player, lots of books, jigsaw puzzles and games, and Free WIFI and internet (2 Wifi systems-Access codes available in the chalet welcome folder).

 

Parking

Two private and covered car parking spaces are reserved for our tenants - marked with stickers snowflakes on the walls, only 150m from the chalet - Under the Etablons chairlift. These 2 places are reserved exclusively for our chalet les Chablis.

The chalet is normally rented on a weekly basis, Saturday to Saturday

 

During the lower season, it can be rented for shorter stays with a 3 night minimum stay, or possibly for longer lets at a reduced rate.

The rental fee includes cleaning at the end of your stay. Bed linen and towels are available on request at a fee of Chf 25 per person for the week.
